According to reports, during the January-November period, Ukraine’s crude steel output was 18.71 million tons, down 3% year-on-year. Pig iron output was 18.59 million tons, up 0.7% year-on-year.

During this period, the output of finished steel products was 16.72 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 0.4%. The Sintered steel output was 28.99 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.9%. The output of coke was 8.82 million tons, down 5.1% year-on-year. The steel pipe output was 790,000 tons, down 16.4% year-on-year.
As of November 2020, Ukraine’s total imports of metal manganese, a raw material for steelmaking, from China totaled about 226 tons, which was less than that of other countries. Due to the impact of Covid-19, Ukraine's economy has fallen sharply, and other European countries have reduced their raw material imports to varying degrees. In addition, the ocean freight cost at the end of the fourth quarter of 2020 did not show a downward trend, so steel production has decreased.
